As an immigrant, there is a constant dialogue between presence and absence in my life. I try to navigate between the terrain of memory, displacement, and belonging to define a hybrid identity. While I am documenting this ambivalent journey, during my visits to Hungary, I gradually come to a profound realisation: The objects within the former family home transcend their role as mere tangible extensions of my Eastern European identity. Instead, they take on a more significant quality and serve as grotesque imprints of the present reality, casting an unsettling foreshadowing of the future.
